🌶️ Cajun Alfredo Pasta Recipe (with Chicken or Shrimp)

🍝 Ingredients:

  • Fettuccine or penne pasta – 250g

  • Butter – 2 tablespoons

  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic – 3 cloves, minced

  • Heavy cream – 1 cup

  • Parmesan cheese – 1 cup, grated

  • Cajun seasoning – 1 to 2 tablespoons (adjust to your spice level)

  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon (optional, for extra color)

  • Salt and pepper – to taste

  • Chicken breast or shrimp – 300g, cleaned and sliced

  • Fresh parsley – for garnish

  • Lemon juice – a squeeze (optional, brightens the flavor)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta

    • Boil pasta in salted water until al dente.

    • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

  2. Season and Cook the Protein

    • Toss sliced chicken or shrimp with 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning.

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

    • Cook the chicken (4–5 mins) or shrimp (2–3 mins per side) until cooked through and slightly charred.

    • Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Cajun Alfredo Sauce

    • In the same skillet, melt butter.

    • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

    • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

    • Stir in Parmesan cheese, remaining Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

    • Let it simmer until the sauce thickens (about 3–5 mins).

    • Add a splash of pasta water if it gets too thick.

  4. Combine Everything

    • Add pasta and cooked chicken/shrimp to the sauce.

    • Toss until fully coated and heated through.

    • Add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.

  5. Serve

    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

    • Serve hot with garlic bread or a green salad.



🔥 Chef’s Tips:

  • You can use store-bought Cajun seasoning or make your own with a blend of paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

  • For a smokier flavor, add a touch of smoked paprika.

  • Want it extra spicy? Add a dash of hot sauce into the sauce.
